Permaculture Design Installation

Stillwater Earthworks' owner and operator, Matthew Holt, is a certified Permaculture Designer with a background in organic farming, civil construction and ecological landscaping. With this broad range of experience, we are uniquely qualified to execute the physical installations of the designs. We collaborate with experienced and reputable permaculture designers

to install sustainable system with clarity and precision. Because these designs are created with the care of the Earth in mind, we believe that pillar of Permaculture ideology should be honored and prioritized during the construction phase.

Our commitment to consciously tending the Earth extends into all aspects of the installation process.  We source plants from members of the permaculture community first, then branch out to other local and organic nurseries.  When excavation is necessary, we are conscious of the impact of the machines and make it a priority to tread lightly in order to avoid any unnecessary disturbances. We work closely with clients to trouble shoot any challenges that arise,

stay true to the design, and maximize the yield of your property.

What we do:

First we review the permaculture design and set up a site visit.

Next we source plants and materials, and plan the construction/ installation.

Then we can begin layout, prepare the soil, and start the physical installation.

Finally we thoroughly restore the land to a healthy, productive ecosystem.

We generally charge by time and materials.

Our hourly rate is $50-$100 per hour depending on crew size and task.

There is a mobility charge reflective of travel distance.

We believe integrating people into their personalized landscape crafts a truly fulfilling lifestyle.
